Sheepdog Auction, Pt. II

Wed Dec 9, 2009, 8:24 PM
Well, the auction has ended, and OESWoman helped bring in $2500+ to help with the cause.

Hopefully, the total moneys raised can help some good dogs get into nice homes, and their families will have some goofy, fluffy joy.

Thanks to all for the kind words of support, the donations, and the general good will.

Happy Holidays, all.

Three Towns in Three Weeks

Thu Oct 22, 2009, 5:45 PM
Baltimore, NYC, and Dallas, all in October, that was the plan.

First, I'm sorry we missed Baltimore due to Allison's illness. Influenza with pneumonia is nothing to sneeze, no pun intended.

NYC last weekend was certainly an interesting experience. My warmest, heartfelt thanks to the many fine folks who came by, said hi, and were genuinely fabulous to hang out with. Tops goes to Jim Clancey for shuttling us back to our hotel with all our stuff after the end on Sunday.

BTW, if you are in NYC and are looking for some AMAZING sushi, go to Blue Ribbon Sushi on Sullivan St. in Soho.

Tomorrow (Friday) I leave for Dallas and STAR WARS Fan Days. That's the plan, anyways.

I managed to dodge all of Allison's pathogens for three weeks now, and all it took was a weekend in New York. Yesterday, I was diagnosed with a big fat case of asthmatic bronchitis (no... thank YOU, Big Apple!). I am on some serious meds: antibiotics, nebulized albuterol sulfate, gris-gris & chicken-bone cross. Whatever works, right?

Anyhoo, I'm instructed by my doctor to stay home if I'm not feeling better, so lets all pray to the Snow Demons, Buddha, and the Big Pink Pixie in the Sky that we nipped this in the bud before it gets any worse.

I hope to see everyone in Dallas!

One Meeeeeellion Pageviews

Thanks to everyone who has dropped by to look at my work in the past year.

I hope to continue posting more in the coming days, weeks, months...

A quick note to everyone who asks for me to check out their work and give them tips:

I CAN'T.

Please understand, I'm not being an inconsiderate dick. If I do it for you, then out of fairness' sake, I should do it for everyone that asks.

I get asked about 20+ per day. Given the time it would take to look at a gallery, and then write a critique, which I would estimate at about 15 minutes, you would think that would be enough time to take for a fan or fellow artist, no?

15 minutes multiplied by 20 requests is 300 minutes, or 5 hours. I just don't have 5 hours every day to devote to critiques; I'm sorry, but I don't. I have enough time to read my dA mesaages, answer as many questions as I can manage, and that's about it.

I can only realistically do portfolio reviews at conventions.

Thanks again for your time & consideration.

San Diego 2009 Post-Mortem

Sat Aug 8, 2009, 7:09 PM
It's over, once again. That Bataan Death March of Art & Fun, San Diego Comic-Con has come and gone like the hurricane it is.

We are slowly recovering, and getting back to the MASSIVE pile of work that I had to kind of ignore while preparing for the show. I apologize to anyone who is miffed that i haven't responded to their posts/questions/comments. I'm trying to get caught up.

Thanks to all who helped make the show, well, I WANT to call it a success. But that's hard to do, when it's so much work. I hate to sound like a complainer, but I've been doing San Diego Comic-Con for YEARS, and it never used to be this much work. On the last day of the show, someone asked me if I had any fun in the preceding 4.5 days. After I finished LAUGHING AT THEM, I remarked: "San Diego Comic-Con is like getting punched in both testicles, with the redeeming factor being the fists have money in them."

I'm very glad it's all done for another year.

OK! Back to the old salt mines. I have covers, designs, and a Wonder Woman miniseries to keep working on...

Thanks again to every & all who have helped & supported me.
