Star Wars cover, done for Dark Horse Comics. I really enjoyed doing this, which is rare for me. I do loves me my STAR WARS, mm-boy.
I cannot believe Lucasfilm let me show a dead Jedi Knight with a severed limb.
Funny story: I just threw this gal in because I needed a dead Jedi, so I used a design that I created for a Wizards of the Coast SW role-playing back in 2000. I figured that since i brought her into the world, I could take her out.
Well! Turns out you can't make a move in the SW without it being 'in continuity' so they simply HAD to write her into the comic, and give her death a spotlight scene, which was cool.
Only, one thing baffled me. In the comic, Vader stabs her through the heart with his lightsaber, THEN cuts her hand off. Doesn't make a lot of sense to me.... in MY mind, Vader would disarm her first by cutting off her sword-hand, THEN deliver the killing stroke.
Comics is crazy business.
Maybe I'll post the game art here soon, so everyone can see who I created then slaughtered.
Blah blah of course the execution, skill, composition, overall design is; as usual, supberb. But it's also fun, and rare, to see Vader actually killing someone! Let alone a Jedi...let alone a female Jedi!
Is that meant to be Obi-Wan's lightsabre, because it certainly looks like it. Awesome art, I have always loved your artwork and it helped me to come up with my own style.
Too funny, I faved this piece a long while ago and my sister was going through different female Jedi looks for me to make her a costume of and she chose the original design for this chick! Haven't showed her this one though yet. I'm saving that for when she really pisses me off! LOL!
