Here's the Powergirl origin story I did for DC Comics' maxiseries 52. Story by Mark Waid, and pencil, inks, and colors by me.
Time was running out on me here, and I didn't get to finish coloring this story. It was fun drawing the Golden Age Superman (in his classic SUPERMAN #1 cover pose!) as well as drawing the destruction of Krypton, which every cartoonist should get to draw at least once in their career. I still hope to draw young Bruce Wayne over the dead bodies of his parents, or Peter Parker slapping a glowing spider on his hand someday... Powergirl is such a fun character to draw, she is so intentionally over-the-top, she has more comedic possibilities than dramatic ones. Although, after this origin and Wonder Woman's I was starting to feel weird, since I was getting to draw so many naked babies. |

Is there any chance you might eventually do some covers for the upcoming Power Girl series? After your runs on Tomb Raider, Wonder Woman and Catwoman, Power Girl just seems like a perfect fit for you.
