Will Allred, the ownder of this sketch, apparently took pictures while I was sketching. Sneaky monkey.

I used Photoshop to fix the foreshortening and perspective on the photo, and create a presentable image of the pencils. Here's Dejah, before the Pitt pens and the Copics were fully unleashed.

What do you, or did you, use to get a good grasp of anatomy? You're a little unorthodox in how use boobs for your drawings without making them look weird.

Yeah, I used to pencil a lot tighter; after a while you start to trust yourself and go: "I'll figure that out in the inks..."

Thank you - I wish more artists posted their half-way sketches. It helps us of lesser artistic finesse to get an idea of what goes in to making the finished product.

Gee, I wish the original sketch had a higher resolution like this one. You can't appreciate the subtleties of a Adam Hughes sketch with small pictures with blurry ink lines.

PLEASE post your pictures in higher resolution! And please post more sketches. Every sketchy line omitted from the original reveals the inner workings of the artist's mind.

When I see this I really feel inspired.
The sketch is so universal! I see this and then see your finished product and I feel as if I could do something similar.
Very nice to see this..thanks!

This is an awesome piece. I was recently reminded of a pic that you did of Poison Ivy: She was standing holding Batman's cowl (while his suit hung in the background, if memory serves me right) and said, "Poison Ivy wearing Batman's suit? How the heck am I supposed to make THAT sexy?!" Ha! I was searching for it online, but couldn't find it. That piece rocks. :)

Anyway, much respect. Keep the awesome work comin'! :D

I really like the way you handle this genre. Your style (particularly the Deco influence) lends itself well to this particular sword-sorcery/sci-fi setting.(hehe, unintentionally alliterative)

Perhaps when you're done with All-Star WW, you can spoil us all with a John Carter mini...
*holds thumbs*
;)

Remember: if you don't keep yourself busy, you might lose your prodigious talent...
(yeah, and pigs will fly!)

Okay, I'm done ass-kissing! (for now)

I like your layout, composition and use of French impressionistic style lettering. I notice more that artists are taking portable scanners with them to conventions. Although a high-end digital camera will do the trick as well. You always have lots of viewers in the Artists Alley, so everybody's going to sneak in a photo or two.

Cool work...do you have a particular order in which you start drawing/inking: I mean first the head, secondly her torso etc.?

Like her euhm...sulky (?) expression. (English isn't my native language).
