Just wanted to say thanks for taking the time to answer all the questions. I really enjoy your looking at your work. I have enjoyed getting to know your personality even more, through youtube videos and your willingness to share with the art community I can tell you really care about your fans, art, your craft and sharing. To be honest I am pretty blown away that you are only using the pencil tool, lasso tool and varying opacity on your brush, most of all I am blown away that you are using a MOUSE! Mad man. I am currently trying out a Wacom Cintiq (draw directly on your monitor.) and it is a real joy to work with. You should give it a try some time.
Very nice. I think Manga Studio would be well suited for your style and the quality and control of line weight is so much better than Photoshop. Also for your traditionally drawn pen and ink work, running it through potrace to convert the line art to vector then color in photoshop. I do this and man does it make the work so much easier and the line integrity that potrace gives amazing practically identical to original art. I use both these tools (manga studio and potrace) it has made my work flow so much easier.
i'm starting to understand more how you do it, but i've also realized it's not for me. i tend to approach it the way i would with traditional media, but with the advantages that digital offers, like "undo" and zooming in to tiny, tiny pixels. i'm starting to really enjoy that about "digital inking". being able to do feathering on a secondary layer and add and subtract without disturbing the primary line work is nice.
