I bought all the Catwomans I have just to own the covers as I did with the Wonder Woman issues. I Adam did the cover, I bought it. I don't read them. I just pull them out whenever I want to stare at the covers. Just astounding feats of creativity
So much warmth and personality in that face. Great to see excellence on display (especially in a world that now sadly seems to want to punish excellence in the name of equality!) Keep up the great work, it inspires many of us!
Adam, This is really lovely, and may I say that I see a little bit of Ava Gardner in her eyes and smile
While I truly love your Audrey Hepburn inspired Selina, I've always thought that had they ever attempted to make a Batman film (ala Dark Knight) in the 50's, Greg Peck and Ava Gardner would have been my picks for the role.
Oh, I only used Ms. Hepburn's FACE. I admit she was far too sweet & innocent to actually PLAY Selina Kyle. Ava Gardner, or Elizabeth Taylor (circa PLACES IN THE SUN) would have the right all-over package to play Selina.
well although she is cat woman i believe thats the reason why she is the way adam drew here because im a lover of cats and although they are quite dark and sly creatures when on a gud day they are very very playful and loveable so im guessing this is that moment captured (quite excellently i mite add) excellent pic adam! as usuaal -.- lol
This is great, totally awesome AH, I love her expression and the light and volume you gave to her with the color.
In an early message some one told you it couldn't be improved, but when criticizing our selfs theres always a sensation that tells you: "I can do better than this". At least it happens to me, that's how I improve.
When you do the retouch I think it'll do it some good if you try adding a soft touch of white on her eyes and the front teeth, lets see what happens.
About a million years ago, when I was working in the local library, I found a big ol' book on Norman Rockwell, and loved that stuff to bits. Now I know people have said this before, and I know you're a big fan yourself, but to me this face of Selina's reminds me so very much of Norman Rockwell, not just in the style and color but in the obvious personality. There's so much of her personality in that face.
I surely do love these close-ups, they really show how much character is in these pictures.
I'm so pleased you chose Selina to grace the cover. I see what you mean by her face being not AH! enough, she look beautiful but slightly oriental as compared to your usual style. Maybe widen the eyes, thin her brows & make her mask's ears a little more pointy? I love the colour of her lips, and the smile is great. All your work is wonderful
Adam, I love your portraits, and that's why I prefer your art to that of someone like say Alex Ross. Not to dis Alex or anything, but he relies so heavily on the models that to me his superheroes just look like people in costumes. Yours look like the ideal more-than-human characters we imagine them to be, just like the Greeks and Romans aimed for in their statuary. Gorgeous!
I've always envied your talent for rendering believable female faces, so pretty it almost hurts to look at them, the kind nerds like me used to feel too shy to walk up and talk to back in high school. Bravo.
Your Catwoman pictures are always my favorites, this one is def. different... it doesn't have that Audrey Hepburn look that I've come so accustomed. This could be a good thing since it's making her just a tad different but I gotta be honest with you, I kind of miss the old face
I love the rosy cheeks!!! and her smile is perfect, hell, it makes me smile!
If you think you could do better (and I think it's safe to say that all your fans can say that you can cause you're like god to us lol) go for it! It wouldn't hurt one bit
